Dear Colleague

The eLearning Team are pleased to announce our online course General Data Protection Regulation has been updated and renamed Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation, in line with legislative changes.  There have been no major changes and therefore staff will not be required to retake the course.

Please note: Even though the UK has left the European Union, UK and EU data protection law is aligned thanks to the fact that EU data protection law has been converted into UK domestic law in the form of the 2018 Data Protection Act, with some minor technical amendments to ensure it is operable in the UK.  This means that, as of 1st January 2021, transfers of data between the UK to the European Economic Area (EEA) are not restricted.

Please let the eLearning team know if you spot any issues with the course or if you have any questions.

Kind regards

Dana
